The Wilcox Instrumental Music Boosters is an organization that supports the music programs at Wilcox High School. Parents of students in the music program are invited to join the Boosters. This group organizes fund raisers and raises money for the music programs that pays for new instruments, uniforms, choir risers, field trips, and snacks for performances. Any parents are welcome to join the boosters, volunteer for fund raisers or bring their ideas to meetings. The boosters meet the first Monday of each month from 6:30-8 pm. When schools are open meetings take place in the Music Room. While schools are closed WIMB meets via zoom; email us for the link to join the meeting!
Winter Percussion is a competitive activity that combines music and choreography. Competitions take place in high school gyms during winter months, where students are judged on both music and visual components. Each ensemble performs a series of songs (movements) focused on a central concept. Props, costumes, floor mat and music are all selected specifically for how they contribute to, and enhance, the selected theme. The separate elements come together to create a unified, choreographed presentation. Information about the 2020-2021 pending the district schools re-opening.
